Mr. Warren S. Carlton aged 81 of Grand Rapids passed away Friday July 16, 2010. Surviving are his children Christina (Bruce) Carlton-Harris of Grand Rapids, Lance Carlton (Angie Howell) of Tustin, MI, Wendy Jo Carlton (Catherine Halley) of Chicago, IL, a brother Roger Carlton, very good friends the Burns Family, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Carlton. Warren was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. Known for his wisdom and sense of humor, Warren loved to read books and was a self-taught clarinet player. A lone wolf with the gentlest of spirits, Warren always had a kind word for everybody. He loved dogs, fishing, Rum Raisin ice cream and writing poetry. Warren was an exceptional athlete in track and field and boxing. While his family and friends will miss him everyday, we are happy that he has finally found his bungalow where he can look out onto the water and smoke all of the Camels he wants.
Keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Private services will be held. Memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans will be appreciated.
