Mr. John J. Kantorowski, of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday February 11, 2010 at almost 100 (aged 90), Veteran of WWII, widower of Eleanor after 53 years of marriage. He was predeceased by his 4 brothers, one sister and his parents. Surviving are his children Barb (Bob) Kalinka, Mary "Suzie" (Roger) Scholz, John (Marcia) Kantorowski, Dan (Ben Boerkoel) Kantorowski, Louisa (Kevin) Self, 10 grandchildren Ruth, Paul Kalinka, Teresa (Chris) Clark, Roger Scholz II, Michael (Kristie) Scholz, Anna, Ian Kantorowski, Robert, Zachary & Joey Self, 2 great grandchildren Logan & Alexander Scholz. He was also predeceased by his "furry friends" Skippy, Sadie, Charlie, Subaru & kimosabe. He was a retiree of G.M. and a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Tuesday 12noon at Basilica of St. Adalbert. The family will receive visitors Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Monday 7 to 9pm at Arsulowicz Brothers, West Mortuary, 585 Stocking NW, where a Rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:30pm. Memorial contributions to Kent County Humane Society will be appreciated.
