Kulhavy
Mildred "Milka" Kay Kulhavy went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2010. Michael and Mary welcomed baby "Milka" into their family on May 27, 1918. She was one of seven sisters and had one little brother, Paulie, who died as an infant. The family was raised with strong values and commitment in a proper Slovac home. Mildred Kay began her life with great expectation and responsibilty. Her father and mother depended on her to hard work on the farm and help with the younger children. This only inspired an enthusiasm to do the impossible. Many referred to her as a prayer worrior and she loved being called, "A daughter of the King". Through prayer and determination, she studied hair design and traveled around the world. She became interested in business and became an entrepreneur and built a successful salon at a time when very few women even dared to dream. The Lord inspired this dream to plant a seed of love for all cultures and people which she held true till the end. The "Seven Kulhavy Sisters" developed a strong bond for each other that will last until they draw their last breath. Death shoud not be feared. It is the fulfillment of God's promise for everlasting life with those we hold dear to our hearts. Aunt Kay, even in the later years, faced many changes and new challenges with great integrity and grace. Some days the independence that came with youth was missed, but the acceptance of God's plan was always remembered. The stories of the Kulhavy family will continue to be told and will inspire new generations to remember our heritage and the glorious foundation of our faith. However, the most important message that Mildred "Kay" Kulhavy wanted you to know: Live your life to the fullest, love people along the way, bless someone else when you have nothing more than a smile to give and tell all people about the hope and promise found in serving our Lord Jesus Christ. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Visitation Friday 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers, West Mortuary, 585 Stocking NW, Grand Rapids, MI.
