Mrs. Bernice B. Novakoski (nee Kalinski) aged 90 of Grand Rapids passed away Sunday January 3, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Aloysius "Al" and daughter-in-law Deana Novakoski. Surviving are her children Thomas (Marianne) Novakoski, Mary Lou (Robert) Kolenda, Cindy (John C.) Williams, Terry Novakoski, Grandchildren Debbie (Tom) Cook, Christopher, Jason (Chrys) Kolenda, Jessica (Mike) Kelly, Stephen Williams, Emily (Steve) Rotary, Matthew Novakoski, Great grandchildren Brenton, Breanna, Haley and Sophia Cook, McKenna Kelly, Great great grandchild Jacob, several nieces and nephews. She graduated from Mt. Mercy Academy. Bernice was an avid reader and lifelong learner. She was a member of St. Isidore Church, a member of the Prayer Chain, and a charter member of the Altar Rosary Society, whose members will pray the Rosary Tuesday at 2:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00am at St. Isidore Church, where, she will repose one hour prior to Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Arsulowicz Brothers, East Mortuary, 937 Michigan NE, where a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Isidore Church, Hauenstein Center of St. Mary's Health Care or St. Andrews Cathedral T.V. Mass.
