Richard E. Pins aged 79, of Grand Rapids, Veteran of U. S. Navy died peacefully on Sunday February 7, 2010 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann in 1990. Surviving are his 4 children Tim Pins of Pittsfield, VT, Susan (Michael) Sandberg of Las Vegas, NV, Molly (Curt) Petersen of Mattawan, MI, Katie (Rick) Coxon of Ada; 9 grandchildren Kylie & Morgan Sandberg, MacAulay, Maggie & Josef Petersen, Kennedy, Riley, Gavin and Regan Coxon; brother Tom (Lucia) Pins of South Easton, Mass, his sister Mary Ellen (Joe) Finnigan of Grand Haven, MI, brother-in-law Bernie DePrimo, sister-in-law Barb MacAulay; many nieces & nephews; a special friend Betty Rinkus. He retired after 40 years as a banking executive with Union Bank (NBD-Chase). Mr. Pins was a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am. He will repose at church one hour prior to the Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. His family will receive visitors Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers, West Mortuary, 585 Stocking NW, where a Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice or Mike Gary Athletic Fund-WMU Football will be appreciated.
