Mrs. Kathryn M. Sobotka, daughter of Fred & Clara Gerke, aged 89 of Croton Township, died peacefully and welcomed into the arms of Jesus and his mother Mary on July 23, 2010. Surviving are her husband of 67 years Harry J., her children Bill Sobotka, Jan (Joe) Liefbroer, Jean (Ken) Lusk, 5 brothers Brother Stephen OFM, William (Joanne) Gerke, Jack (Kathy) Gerke, Jim (Pat) Gerke, Tom (Geri) Gerke, 4 sisters Rosemary (Bill) Winstrom, Pat Boatright, Lorraine Veneklase, Mary Lou Veneklase, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter & son-in-law Marilyn & Bill Manasil, granddaughter Megan Liefbroer, 2 brothers Fred & Bob Gerke. Kathryn will be remembered as a loving & caring wife, mother and granny. She spent her life dedicated to her family and friends, her card games and Sunday dinners will be fondly remembered. Kathryn was an active member of St. Mary's Church, Grand Rapids and St. Bartholomew Church in Newaygo. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Monday 10:00am at St. Mary's Church, Grand Rapids, where she will repose one hour prior. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Sunday 6 to 9pm at Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd, where a Prayer Vigil will be held Sunday at 7:00pm. Memorial contributions to St. Mary's Church, Grand Rapids or Spectrum Health Hospice will be appreciated.
