Mrs. Helen V. Stefaniak (nee Modzeleski) aged 99 of Grand Rapids passed from this life Thursday May 6, 2010 and is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, and her daughter Lorie. She will be dearly missed by her daughters Barb (Ken) Knapp, Dolly (Tom) Pelton, Nancy Borek Nelson, loving grandchildren Rick (Karen) Schroeder, Penny (Malcolm) Kelley, Chet (Mary) Schroeder, John (Faraneh) Schroeder, Keith Schroeder, Missy (David) Saltman, Kerry (Nancy) Knapp, Joe (Katie) Knapp, Doug (Barb) Fox, Dan Fox, David (Patty) Fox, Shelley (David) Brunett, Brent (fiance' Lisa) Pelton, Karen (Jim) Umlor, Beverly (fiance' Kasey) Borek,  Brian (Lexi) Borek, Nick Borek and her beloved great grandchildren. Helen will be greatly missed by her surviving sisters Anne (Del) Rector and Hedy Latham, also her brother-in-law Edward Stefaniak. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to the Ben Prawdzik family for their loving affection. She enjoyed her monthly card games with the "Golden Girls" and her friendships she made at Lincoln Square. She was a lifetime member of Basilica of St. Adalbert and now Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Belmont. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Monday 11:00am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Belmont. She will repose in church one hour prior to Mass. Ennichment Holy Cross Mausoleum. The family will receive visitors Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525  Remembrance Rd, where a Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7:00pm. Memorial contributions to the Assumption Education Endowment Fund will be appreciated.
