Chris Herman Straub, aged 55, of Grand Rapids died at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans on Wednesday July 14, 2010. Chris was preceded in death by his father Irwin L. Straub. Surviving are his mother, Arlene Straub-Herman, his children Patrick (Lindsay) Simon, Sarah, Daniel, Anthony Miller, and Ashley. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carson, Peyton, Alex, Isaac, and Adam, his siblings Patricia (Sam) Fessenden, James (Gail), Nancy (John) Myszka, Linda (Larry) Olson, Richard (Mary), as well as several aunts, an uncle, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Chris was a veteran of the U.S. Army, worked on the railroads, and was later employed for many years as a truck driver for Falcon Foam Corporation in Byron Center. Per his wish, he was cremated and a private burial is planned. Visitation Friday July 23, 2010, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers, West Mortuary, 585 Stocking NW.
