Mr. Mark J. Thome aged 87 of Alpine Township was welcomed to Heaven Wednesday January 13, 2010. Surviving are his wife of 58 years Theresa Thome (Brechting); his children Betty (Bert) Schoenborn, Margie (Curtis) Rowe, Bernard J. (Kay) Thome, Edward Thome, Mary Ann (David) Lowing, Chuck Thome; grandchidren Martin (Melissa) and Jason (Catherine) Schoenborn, Kim (Paul) Ladewig, Phillip, Kyle and Michael Rowe, Kristin (Jeremy) Huyck, Julie and Brian Thome, Matthew and Emily Lowing, Nancy Thome; great grandsons Isaac and Levi Schoenborn; a brother Harold (Jo Ann) Thome; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Bernadette (Herm) Rasch, Frank Brechting, Dorothy Brechting; many nieces, nephews and his loyal dogs Sheba and Buddy. Mark was a lifetime fruit and dairy farmer. He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Church, Alpine, a member of Knights of Columbus and was the Captain for many years of the St. Lazare Retreat. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Saturday 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Church, where he will repose in church one hour prior to the Mass. Interment Holy Trinity Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Holy Trinity Church, where a Rosary will be prayed Friday at 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions to Holy Trinity Church Pew Fund or Masses in his memory or to Michigan State Horticultural Society Trust Fund will be appreciated.
